This assembly was made to act as a variable ratio beam splitter for a 523.5nm Nd:YLF laser (which you can find in another of our listings). 523nm being an unusual wavelength, this is made with a zero order half wave plate designed for 514nm and a polarizing beam splitter cube made for 532nm. I guess these were the closest off the shelf parts available. Both the wave plate and the PBS cube are broadband enough to perform quite well at 523nm.
The motorized rotation stage is a Thorlabs PRM1Z8 which has been wired to an Allmotion EZV10 servo driver with RS-485 control.
